Belvidere additionally encompasses a bird park, a water frontage open area, two tennis courts, a retirement village with outstanding support services and frail care facilities, berths for boats at two jetties, canoe racks, garages for storing boats, cars and other equipment, and nature walks along the edge of the lagoon.

Belvidere Estate is easily accessed via the N2 passing through the Garden Route, and the George airport. It is in close proximity to fabulous beaches at Brenton-on-Sea and Buffalo Bay, the Tsitsikama forest and the Outeniqua Mountains. The Knysna lagoon provides for numerous water activities, including an annual schools rowing regatta.

Holy Trinity Church

This delightful national monument building, designed by Sophia Gray, wife of Bishop Robert Gray, was consecrated in 1855, and is a much loved Belvidere landmark. It is an active Anglican Church with regular mid-week and Sunday services.

A tranquil Prayer Walk is established in the grounds, meandering through the Church and Church Hall surrounds. The Church also cares for a set of local community churches in the surrounding district


The jetty walkway connecting the land to the gazebo has recently become the property (jointly owned) of BHOA and Belvidere Jetty Association. The fingers on which the boats are moored are the property of the BEJA and each mooring is owned by the member and user who is joined to the BEJA by a constitution and code of conduct. The trots are maintained by the BEJA whilst the walkway and gazebo are maintained on a shared cost basis shared by BHOA /BEJA.

Buffalo Bay

Buffalo Bay is a small seaside village 20 minutes drive from Belvidere Estate. The surfing is excellent and the swimming the best in the area. For the keen fisherman, there is fishing off the rocks at the point.
